This page probably took about five seconds to load. Every five seconds, 10,056 pounds of edible food gets thrown away in the United States. In the same five seconds, Nike makes a little over $3,000, whilst someone working at a Nike factory in Vietnam makes $0.00012. In the next five seconds, about another ten babies will be born into poverty.
Consumerism, inequality and poverty are all social phenomena propelled by some form of progress, or the lack of it. Real human progress depends on our ability to tap into our innate entrepreneurial spirit and channel unique talents, passions and ideas towards creating good in the world. Here is where Enactus has a role to play.
What is Enactus?
Enactus is a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world for us all.
Working with leading corporate partners and member universities like UCL, Enactus establishes student programmes in campuses around the world. Enactus UK provides Enactus UCL a support network in the form of university advisors, alumni mentors and a local business advisory board, facilitating us to create innovative and impactful solutions to social problems.
For students currently studying at University College London, Enactus UCL is the local branch of this international network where you can get involved.
